Honey & Sugar
Clinical Research confirms the huge differences
Honey in its natural and unprocessed form is made by bees from nectar of flowers they forage. Sugar, however is both in its natural form and also processed.
Natural sugars exist in most fruits and vegetables, and is adequate for the body needs. There is also processed sugars, usually from sugar-cane etc.
The body responds to each of these three separately, natural sugars, processed sugar, and raw unprocessed honey.
‘’While honey and sugar share similar degrees of sweetness, the differences in the way our bodies respond to them are profound.’’ Sayer Ji
Processed Sugar
As I mentioned earlier, processed sugar is mainly from sugarcane, a member of the grass family, Poaceae, which include among others, wheat, maize, lemongrass and rice. The sucrose in these plant are located in the leaves, and are easily transported to the stems and roots when needed.
The processing of the sugar that lands on our table isolates the fructose from other chemical compounds that come with the complex sugar. The isolation makes it unhealthy to take table sugar on its own. No wonder…
