I heard my gran called out my name
Time is up, for you to lead the devotion
You always have the sleep to blame
On the days you lead devotion

O! gran, the hymn books are laid out on the chairs
Ready since yesterday for today’s devotion
Gran knows that I am a hare
That appreciates the value of devotion

Granpa already on the piano
What song are you choosing today, he asked?
Is ‘All glory, Laud and Honour’, good, I asked?
He opened the music book and laid it on the piano

I heard the melody
‘All Glory, Laud and Honour’
I opened my eyes to savour the melody
It was five ante meridiem, on my bed to honour

My grandparents have both passed away for over twenty years.
